Small hope

My first finished foray into digital painting
(As it completely digital from sketch to final picture)
Doing a drawing of this kind of theme has to be a first for me
I haven't really drawn or painted anything with the intention of trying to get people to think
about... whatever it is I've painted
I've usually just draw things for simply the sake of drawing

This is for 's contest about
the consequences of our degrading environment,
the joy of planting a tree or rehabilitating an endangered species, etc.
Basically anything that can convey the need for us to go green and motivate others to do so.

So the first image that came to mind was a horizon of factories spewing out filth into already dirty air
And a child finds a single seedling and weeps with hope and despair for the future
(If you can zoom in, you might be able to see the tears)

Although I don't think that all the buzz about global warming
in the political arenas holds much water
We really need to do something about how we live
on this planet,
our Earth
Our home
